Admire this unique strand of beads made from ancient glass pieces. Commonly referred to as Roman glass, the material for these beads is derived from ancient cups, vases, and perfume containers that have sustained the travails of time. The material for these beads is found in Central Asia, in regions along the silk road where the ancient kingdoms of Sogdiana and Bactria once thrived. If you look carefully, you will see that these beads have a unique patina endowed by the mineral deposits where the glass lay buried. Each glass piece has been individually drilled and threaded to create a strand. No two strands are alike but you will receive a strand similar to that pictured. Some strands may have a pendant at the end while others may not. Each bead measures approximately 8-12 x 8-11mm, with a hole size of approximately 1mm. Total strand length is 16" including string with approximately 24 beads. Multiple strands may be pictured. Each strand is sold individually. Truly something special to use in any jewelry piece. Limited supply! Note that while the material is said to be of old, possibly ancient origin, the precise age of the glass has not been independently verified.
