Recycled glass beads are a type of indigenously produced African bead from Ghana West Africa. These beautiful blue color recycled beads are made using an old method that has been used for centuries. The glass itself is derived from a variety of recycled sources including old beverage and medicine bottles. The procedure for making the beads consists of a number of steps whereby powdered glass is poured into molds of clay and baked in a specialized oven. These beads are produced in large part by the Krobo tribe and through recycling glass are environmentally friendly. Shade may vary slightly from photo.
• Made Of Recycled Glass: These authentic African beads are made using recycled glass. Master artisans collect used cola bottles, broken windows, and other recycled materials which are then crushed down into a fine powder before being transformed into these beautiful ethnic beads. Great for your own necklaces, bracelets, and jewelry, or can be worn as-is!
• What You Get: For each unit purchased, you will receive a full 27" strand which consists of approximately 44 beads. Each bead measures approximately 11 x 13mm with a hole size of 2mm. Beads are typically strung on cotton, or raffia as shown in photo.
